Jose Mourinho has insisted his public criticism of Tanguy Ndombele is his attempt at working with the Tottenham midfielder and not against him.
As BBC Sport details, Mourinho slammed the effort and fitness levels of Tottenham’s record signing following Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Burnley.

The Portuguese does have a track record of digging out players he doesn’t fancy, but he insisted in an interview with BT Sport, prior to tonight’s return leg with RB Leipzig in the Champions League, that he is only putting pressure on Ndombele because he sees great potential in the Frenchman.

Ndombele has kept his place in the squad for the Leipzig game but was dropped top the bench.
