“We had many, many players in trouble” Mourinho’s Right To Be Concerned

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has revealed his concern over a number of players and the workload that they’ve had.

It’s been a gruelling schedule for Spurs as they’ve looked to compete on multiple fronts, as they played five times last month.

They’ll play four games in the space of 10 days by the time they’ve taken on RB Leipzig next Tuesday night, and it appears as though it may well be taking its toll on the players.

“Harry Winks was completely dead,” Mourinho said after Tottenham’s exit from the FA Cup against Norwich City, as quoted by the Express. “I think he’s started 11-12 games in a row, we had many many players in trouble.

“It was a difficult game. Some of my players were really, really in trouble, and they made an excellent effort to try. I’m so sad for the boys but I don’t criticise, I just can’t. The boys, they gave what they have and what they don’t have.”

With such a quick turnaround to the Burnley game on Saturday evening, it remains to be seen if it’s enough for some of the Tottenham players who are said to be struggling.

Injuries are limiting Mourinho in terms of rotation with the likes of Harry Kane and Heung Min-Son still sidelined, and so it’s a worrying time for Spurs as they look to avoid slipping further off the pace in the battle for Champions League qualification this weekend.

Why,when the league alone is 38 games are modern players knackered if they start 11 or 12 concequetive games? What is going on with players being the fittest they’ve ever been with state of the art medical treatment. It just doesn’t make sense.Welcome to the snowflake society.
Having said all that it is patently obvious that severe neglect of the squad has led to this situation. This is down to ENIC and their penny pinching to line their own pockets at the expense of THFC.I defy any manager to achieve any success with this level of investment.Whatever your opinion on Poch at least he got us playing attractive aggressively pressing football that was the envy of the PL,and beyond I suspect, having a great defensive record and a unbeaten home record in the final season at our real home.THFC RIP.

Oh yeah, maybe if Cullen and levy stopped talking garbage and got us into a situation where we have reliable deputies this wouldn’t happen…
