Harry Winks has become a divisive figure among Tottenham fans.
Some see him as a key figure in our midfield; high energy and skilled at keeping possession ticking along.
Others see him as a sideways and back merchant; not good enough or brave enough to progress the ball upfield.
Most importantly – what does Jose Mourinho think?
After initially dropping the 24-year-old, Mourinho sees huge improvement in Winks and believes he is becoming more forward thinking.
This is what the Portuguese told his pre-match press conference ahead of Sunday’s visit of Wolves to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
via ytCropperI haven’t seen the same improvement from Winks, although the lack of movement in front of him in the absence of Harry Kane and Son Heung-min would make ball progression difficult for even the best midfielders.
He needs to do more. He’s like the batsman who scores 30 to keep his place in the team for next week. When is he going to ton up and win us a game?
