(Video) “I want to go”: Tottenham’s Danny Rose on how he told agent to make Newcastle move happen

Danny Rose joined Newcastle United on loan this evening and he sounds chuffed to bits to have got the deal done.

Rose has only started one Premier League game since Jose Mourinho’s arrival in November, but is likely to get much more game time on Tyneside.

But minutes are not the only thing that attracted Rose to Newcastle.

In an interview published on Newcastle United’s official Twitter account, Rose claims that, as a teenager, he told a friend he’d love to play for the Toon, because of their passionate fans.

He said: “Since I was 19, I remember speaking to one of my friends and saying ‘outside of the top six teams, there’s three teams that I’d love to play for, just purely off of the fanbase and how passionate they are… and Newcastle’s one of those teams’.”

Rose also claimed that he was the one who pushed for the move to Newcastle once he heard they wanted a left-back.

He explained: “Straight away I called my agent and said ‘I want to go. Can you try and make it happen?’ That’s literally how it all started.”

That was before Poch was sacked and he knew he had the faith of Poch since he has stated earlier that he “loves” him. Now it`s about playing so he does not lose his England place. He is a club legend and has been treated unfairly by Levy. I hope he does well there and comes back next season and leaves on a high.

This is this is the man who said he was going nowhere and sit it out at Spurs until his contract expired.
I’ve always championed Rose’s corner, but enough is enough. His departure leaves us desperately short of full backs and shows Levy is only concerned about one thing….saving money to the detriment of the club,as just about everyone on this site agrees.
Even Mourinho has been silent on our lack of activity in recent days.I guess 15M/year has it’s compensations.
