Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to sign Tosin Adarabioyo from Fulham this summer.
According to a report from Football Insider, the 6 feet 5-inch defender is a ‘real option’ for Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham are now confident of signing him before the window closes.
The former Manchester City defender has done well for Fulham this past season and he could prove to be a useful squad player for the north London club.
Tottenham need to add more quality and depth to their defence in the coming weeks. Spurs were quite vulnerable defensively last season and ended up conceding 63 goals in the Premier League. They will have to tighten up at the back if they want to improve next season and finish in the top four.
Furthermore, the newly appointed Tottenham manager prefers playing an exciting brand of attacking football and he needs defensive stability in order to execute his style of play.
Cristian Romero is the only reliable defender at the club and they need to bring in a quality partner for the Argentine international.
While Adarabioyo might not be enough for Tottenham to get back into the top four, the 25-year-old would still be a useful option to have. Tottenham have been linked with other central defenders recently and they should look to bring in more than just one defender this summer.
Meanwhile, the 25-year-old Fulham defender is likely to be tempted if Tottenham come calling this summer. It would be a step up in his career and he would get to prove himself at a high level.
