Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso has been linked with a move away from the club this summer.
The 27-year-old was on loan at Villarreal last season and he has returned to his parent club upon the expiry of his loan deal.
However, the Argentine international does not have a future at the North London club and he is set to leave the club permanently.
According to Calcio Napoli 24, the Italian outfit are keen on signing the player and the 27-year-old ‘would willingly accept’ a move to the club.
Apparently, Lo Celso has been on the radar of Napoli for a while and it remains to be seen whether the Italian champions can get the deal done.
Napoli managed to win the Italian league title last season and they will look to strengthen the squad further and compete in the Champions League next year.
Signing a quality attacking midfielder will help them improve going forward.
Lo Celso also has proven himself in the Spanish league with Real Betis and Villarreal. There is no doubt that he has the technical attributes to succeed in the Italian league as well.
The opportunity to join the Champions League club will be an attractive proposition for the player.
Meanwhile, Tottenham need to improve their squad this summer and they could certainly use the proceeds from the Argentine’s departure.
The 27-year-old has not been able to settle into the Premier League since his £55.3m move and it makes sense for the two parties to go separate ways this summer.
