44-year-old the ‘leading candidate’ to manage Tottenham, deemed as the best fit

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur are looking to bring in a quality replacement for Antonio Conte at the end of the season and Feyenoord manager Arne Slot is reportedly a top target.

A report from the Independent claims that the 44-year-old manager is now a ‘leading candidate’ to take over at the North London club.

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with managers like Mauricio Pochettino and Julian Nagelsmann as well, but the report claims that Slot is the best fit for the club as per their needs.

Tottenham are reportedly looking for a progressive young manager who will help nurture young talents at the club and help put together a formidable squad in the coming seasons.

The Londoners cannot compete with elite clubs in terms of resources and therefore they need to build a sustainable project and Slot could be the ideal acquisition for them.

The 44-year-old has done a splendid job in the Dutch league this season and Feyenoord are currently eight points clear at the top of the table.

They are the favourites to win the league title this year and Slot’s management has attracted a lot of praise.

The Eredivisie leaders have played some exciting attacking football throughout the campaign and Tottenham fans will be hoping that he can introduce a similar brand of football at North London club.

Conte’s conservative approach attracted a lot of criticism towards the end of his reign and a fresh style of play could lift the spirits around the club.

Feyenoord have scored 70 goals in 29 league matches this season and Tottenham have a number of top-class attackers who could excel in Slot’s free-flowing attacking system next season.
