£40m star ‘open to Spurs move’, personal terms ‘almost agreed after positive talks’

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Brentford goalkeeper David Raya.

The 27-year-old has established himself as a reliable goalkeeper in the Premier League and the London club are looking to secure his services this summer

Spurs will have to find a quality replacement for club legend Hugo Lloris and the Spanish goalkeeper would be a quality acquisition.

Raya is well-settled in the Premier League and he could make an immediate impact at Tottenham

Lloris has been quite error-prone this season and he will have to be replaced as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper. The 36-year-old Frenchman has cost his side valuable points with his error-prone performance this season and he is no longer good enough to start for Tottenham on a regular basis.

Signing a quality goalkeeper should be the first priority for Ange Postecoglou.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Brentford are demanding £40 million for the 27-year-old goalkeeper, and the player is ‘open to Spurs move’. He adds that personal terms are now ‘almost agreed after positive talks’ between the two parties.

It will be interesting to see if Brentford are willing to negotiate a more reasonable price. Raya is in the final year of his contract and he will be a free agent next summer. Tottenham will be hoping to sign him for less than £40 million.

The player has refused to sign an extension with Brentford. Therefore the Bees will be under pressure to cash in on him this summer. It remains to be seen how the situation unfolds.
