German international striker Timo Werner is closing in on a move to Tottenham Hotspur.
A report from Football Insider claims that the 27-year-old RB Leipzig striker will undergo his medical with the North London club tomorrow and he will join them on a loan deal.
Tottenham will have an option to make the move permanent at the end of the season for a fee of around £30 million.
The 27-year-old has played in the Premier League before with Chelsea and it will be interesting to see if he can hit the ground running. Tottenham need attacking reinforcements and they could certainly use a versatile forward like Werner. The German international is capable of operating anywhere across the front three and he will add goals and creativity to the North London side.
Signing him on a loan deal until the end of the season could prove to be a bargain for the English club, especially if he manages to make an immediate impact. Werner managed to win the UEFA Champions League title with Chelsea during his previous spell in England and it remains to be seen whether he can help the North London side win a trophy this season.
The 27-year-old has had a mediocre campaign with German club so far and it is no surprise that they are prepared to let him leave on a short-term deal. RB Leipzig will hope that he can do well for Tottenham so that they can secure his permanent in the summer.
