Tottenham Hotspur defender Sergio Reguilon is currently on loan at Premier League club, Brentford.
The 27-year-old has had a difficult time since moving to the North London club, and he has not been able to hold down a regular starting spot with them. He has had loan spells away from the club, but the Spanish left-back has not been able to hit top form in recent seasons. He will look to get his career back on track with regular football at Brentford until the end of the season.
According to a report from Estadio Deportivo, the defender wants to ‘relaunch his career’ with a permanent exit from Tottenham and the North London club are prepared to sell him permanently as well. The report claims that Tottenham are hoping to ‘receive offers’ for him at the end of the season.
Reguilon has a contract with them until the summer of 2025 and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham decide to sell him for a nominal price during the summer transfer window.
It is evident that the Spanish defender does not have a future at Tottenham and it would be ideal for the two parties to go their separate ways. The North London outfit already have players like Destiny Udogie, Ben Chilwell, and Ryan Sessegnon at their disposal.
Reguilon has previously shown his quality in the Spanish league and there is no doubt that he is capable of competing at a high level. He needs to join a club where he will get ample game and the trust of the manager.
