26-year-old’s Tottenham fate can no longer be ‘taken for granted’ after Conte exit

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur attacking midfielder Giovani Lo Celso is currently on loan at Spanish club Villarreal.

The Argentine international has had a disappointing season so far and he has not been able to hit top form because of injury problems. The midfielder missed Argentina’s World Cup-winning campaign as well.

The 26-year-old midfielder joined Tottenham back in August 2019 but he fell down the pecking order under Antonio Conte and the Italian manager decided to loan him out.

It seemed that the player would leave Tottenham permanently at the end of this season with Conte not keen on giving him opportunities at the north London club.

However, the Premier League side have now sacked the Italian manager and a report from Estadio Deportivo claims that the Argentina international’s future is more open than ever and he could be given the opportunity to showcase his qualities in north London. The midfielder’s exit can no longer be ‘taken for granted’.

The report further states that players like Sergio Reguilon, Harry Winks and Tanguy Ndombele could also get opportunities to prove their worth under a new manager when they return from their respective loan spells.

Lo Celso has proven his quality with Real Betis in the past and he could be an important player for Tottenham if he manages to recapture his form and confidence.

Tottenham are in desperate need of a player who can add creativity and goals from the central areas and Lo Celso could help create more opportunities for his teammates with his passing and vision in the final third.
