Galatasaray defender Victor Nelsson has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur in recent months.
The 24-year-old was a target for the North London outfit during the summer transfer window as well, but a move did not materialise back then. It seems that Tottenham have not given up on him yet and the defender continues to be ‘on the radar’ of the Premier League club.
As per Aksam, the player has a release clause in his contract of around €30 million and Tottenham will be able to secure his services if they are willing to pay up in January. They need to add defensive depth to the side and Nelsson could prove to be a quality acquisition.
The Denmark defender has proven himself in Turkish football and he could be ready to make the step up to the Premier League now. The opportunity to join a top-six club in England will be an attractive proposition for the player and it would be a major step up in his career.
The 24-year-old is entering his peak years and he will look to test himself at the highest level level. The reported €30 million asking price seems like a bargain in today’s market and Nelsson could justify the investment in the coming seasons.
The likes of Eric Dier have been linked with the move away from Tottenham and Spurs will have to replace him adequately if he ends up leaving in January. Nelsson could prove to be a quality alternative.
