23-yr-old linked with Spurs exit ‘doesn’t want to go’, reliable journalist confirms

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur defender Emerson Royal was linked with a move away from the London club earlier this summer.

The player’s agent hinted at a potential move back in June when the full-back was linked with Spanish giants Atletico Madrid.

However, Spurs chose to hold on to him and Alasdair Gold from Football London has now revealed that Emerson is not keen on leaving Tottenham anytime soon.

Apparently, the defender feels that he is well settled at the club and he is a popular figure within the camp. Emerson gets on well with his South American teammates and he expects to stay at the Premier League club for the foreseeable future.

Gold said: “Emerson Royal is so settled, he doesn’t want to go anywhere, he’s got Lucas Moura and Richarlison who he is loving life with. He gets on with the other South Americans extremely well. He’s very popular in the Tottenham camp.”

The 23-year-old had his fair share of criticism last season for his lack of quality going forward but it seems that he has managed to establish himself as a likeable character within the squad. It remains to be seen whether he can win over his doubters with his performances now.

The Brazilian is still getting to grips with Antonio Conte’s system but there have been signs of progress. However, there is no doubt that he will have to improve his end product a lot more in order to hold down a regular starting berth at the club.

Spurs recently invested in a talented young full-back and Emerson will be expected to battle it out for the starting spot with summer signing Djed Spence.

Royal is not awful but he’s not much better than awful either. Still can’t decide if he’s actually an improvement on Aurier – maybe defensively, but offensively he’s not doing it. At all.

On a sidenote, it’s interesting to watch HH’s Daily Briefings where he completely thrashes things like “Maximin to Spurs” or “Royal doesn’t want to go”, and then read the same things as rumors and ITK on the blog.

Just saying.

I believe that Levy
sees success of the football club as a hindrance to his need to CONTROL THE THFC WORLD VIA A MEDIA OUTLET THAT ALLOWS HIM TO BE KING ..NOT LEDLEY LEDLEY ..HE ONLY HAS ONE KNEE…bigger than that ..watched all over the world as we achieve nothing..Look at the MONEY UNCLE JOE….his desire to be in charge is his weakness but then he is now on the Forbes rich list..Not a funny old game not really….anything but footballing success will do..he ain’t alone ..sickening.

Royal doesn’t want to leave and lucky for him no one else of note seems to want him so here he stays. Come to think of it, no one seems to want Winky, Gio, Tanguy, Gil, Doherty, Regy, Sanchez, Tanganga enough either as evidenced by the lack of outright bids at reaaonable valuations.

Even Wspam and Manure have better RB/RWBs than this duffer. Improved from dog turd to regular turd but we are still dressing a turd in tinsel and pretending it might be ok.

Agree, BT. Every year we hope we can move on as a club and in fairness to Jol, Poch and now Conte, they have definitely improved what they inherited. Just none get properly back by the midget miser in charge. Breaks my heart what ENIC have done. Raising WHL to the ground was unforgivable.

Not good enough for a team aspiring to compete for the league, final ball into the area very poor

It’s the same old ..to me at least half the players bought are for the next coach ..can you imagine who that may be, the idea that a 33 year old and players not yet bloodied are part of the plan is a nonsense . How many players do we have on loan much of our deadwood is out in loan ..The Deadwood Coach ..coming right back at her
We look like a cheap little club in an amazing architectural monument ..allegedly.
Leeds oh yeah they must be rubbish , they are above our pretentions..Levy out
COYS..

His ability to play is sorely lacking. IfvDoherty hadn’t been injured last season, he may have still been behind him. Says it all.

Always nice when someone actually wants to play for the team. Sure he needs to improve but he has many of the basics and I am sure our coaching team can improve his technique. Conte is obviously impressed enough to give him preference over Doherty.
