Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has been linked with a move away from the club this summer.
The 27-year-old Danish international has been a key player for Tottenham since joining the club from Southampton.
However, a report from the Times claims that Atletico Madrid are keen on signing the midfielder this summer and they have submitted a £16 million offer for him.
Tottenham have reportedly rejected the bid from the Spanish giants but the two clubs are expected to reach a compromise soon.
The north London outfit are reportedly eyeing up a move for the Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie as his replacement.
Barcelona signed the midfielder as a free agent last summer but the 26-year-old has struggled for regular game time at the Spanish club.
A move away from Barcelona would be ideal for him and Spurs could provide him with ample first-team opportunities.
Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see if they can recoup the desired amount of money for Hojbjerg. The Denmark international has been one of the first names on the team sheet at Tottenham but there is a feeling that he might not be the ideal fit for Ange Postecogou’s playing style.
It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can bring in the right replacements in the coming weeks and push for a place in the Champions League next season.
