Brazilian international Richarlison is reportedly unhappy at Tottenham Hotspur and has been linked with a move away from the club.
The Brazilian international has been a part of the Tottenham squad since the summer of 2022. He arrived at the North London club after proving himself in the English top flight with Everton.
Despite limited game time during his debut season, things were expected to improve following the departure of Harry Kane last summer.
But, Ange Postecoglou ended up using Son Heung-min up top on the majority of the occasions.
While the 27-year-old finished with 16 goal contributions (12 goals, 4 assists), he has had less than 1800 minutes of first-team action in the 2023/24 season.
The limited game time hasn’t gone down well with the Tottenham forward and according to the former Brazil attacker José Ferreira Neto, Richarlison is not happy at Tottenham.
Neto has told Os Donos da Bola that Vasco da Gama are interested in bringing him back to Brazil. The player is not enjoying his football at Spurs and he wants to return to his homeland.
Neto said via SportWitness: “The information I have is that Richarlison will return to Brazilian football. He has to return [to Brazil] to return to the World Cup. The information I have is that Richarlison isn’t very happy at Tottenham and wants to return [to Brazil]. He would be an important name for Vasco”.
While his contract with Tottenham runs until the summer of 2027, Neto feels Richarlison could push for a move back to Brazil. He could be a key signing for Vasco da Gama who want to bolster their attack.
Despite Neto’s claims, multiple reports state that Richarlison wants to continue at Spurs and the club have no intentions of sanctioning his departure. It will be interesting to see where Richarlison ends up paying his football next season.
