José Mourinho may take a little bit of getting used to for some Tottenham fans. The 56-year-old is not your garden variety Spurs manager. Since the Portuguese’s appointment, Mourinho has managed to convince Daniel Levy to pursue a distinctly different course to that of his predecessor, Mauricio Pochettino. Instead of building and nurturing, the Kosher One has embarked upon a course of shipping in no less than 5 player that are pretty much diametrically opposed to any previous ‘THFC purchasing model’.
The Boy Hotspur understands from a source close to the club that media speculation about a return of Christian Eriksen to Tottenham is fiction.

Thing is, everything I’ve been going on about regarding the owners and since the stadium was built, the debt that has to be serviced is felt just as strongly by HH. Much of his last vlog was (if you even watched it) was highly critical of Levy, in the same way I and others are and have been.
The thing I find most telling is that we don’t see you replying to HH with names such as ‘weak’ and ‘negative’ and all the other nonsense you trott out.
If you’re so principled about slagging off anyone who makes criticisms of the owners then why firstly are you going on a blog, where the guy that runs it is also one of those fans? Secondly why aren’t you calling him ‘negative’ and ‘’weak’ in that case?

I’m happy to be proven wrong with Jose. I’ve said I doubt the relationship with him and Levy would work out long term . That the two would be a long way apart eventually. We still don’t know that, we will see in a couple of years.
I’d prefer he’d stuck with Poch but it’s not just about what I think or others like me. If it works out with any other manager for the team to be successful that’s the most important thing.
I think Jose’s best day’s might be behind him, I have never questioned his record, only that it was a few years ago and also questioned how it would work at Spurs with Levy.
Now some signings have been made and Levy is doing some stuff to help things look better. I don’t care about egg on my face or anything about that if we’re winning. Lots of winning and lots of egg? No problem.

I got shot down (as so often) when comparing the Bale deal to the VDV, hear me out. Both from Real Madrid, both were not in the managers plans there, both had injury problems. A good boss keeps his key staff happy. Levy didn’t pay him the going rate, and then tried to sell him for between £135 and £150 mill, based on the price achieved by Liverpool for Coutinho. The net result was that we sold an unhappy player for circa £16 mill. Not good business if one is still allowed to criticise Levy on this site without being gratuitously insulted for having a different opinion.

Any football team is made up of different types of players. Some are quicker, some can dribble or shoot better, some head the ball better, some can see and execute a pass better than their teammates. Just being able to make a crunching tackle is not enough to win matches at the highest level. Many offensive midfield players are not renowned for their tackling ability.
I rate both Regulon and Bale, what are you even talking about? Paying 40% of Bale’s wages isn’t that massive in financial terms no.

I do remember when he joined he said something like “I have a plan” and I read it that he wanted to move on from Spurs to RM eventually.

He was a very good player for Spurs during his time there. Understandably, he became unhappy when his peer group at the club were earning far more than him, eg, Alli was on over £100,000 and Eriksen was on £70,000. Levy allowed this disparity to continue which rankled with Eriksen. Then there was also the curious rumour about his wife having an affair with a fellow Spurs player, and Jan’s black eye was never explained. I wonder how he would contribute to the team now that the defence and defensive midfield are much sounder. One shouldn’t expect a player like Eriksen to act like a water carrier. His stats bear out his contribution and if we could buy him back at a commercial price, I would welcome him back. It will be interesting to see if Poch ends up at Utd, or even City, a new rumour, whether he will win the silverware he didn’t manage to do at Spurs. At least if he was to get a job with either of these two clubs, it would dispel the theory that he was incapable of getting a job with a top team.

Eriksen is too lightweight & NOT a José type player! As talented as he can be, he isn’t one to chase/tackle back, nor put hard graft shifts in.
