Tottenham ‘willing to bid’ for Chelsea target with 11 goal contributions this season

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing the Brazilian winger Raphinha from Barcelona at the end of the season.

A report from Spanish publication SPORT claims that Tottenham are ‘willing to bid’ for the 27-year-old winger and they will face competition from Premier League rivals Chelsea.

Raphinha has contributed to four goals and seven assists across all competitions, and he could prove to be a useful option in the attack for the two clubs.

Tottenham and Chelsea will need more depth at their disposal if they want to compete for major trophies in the coming season. Signing a creative winger could prove to be a wise decision for them.

Raphinha is versatile enough to operate on either flank and he knows the Premier League well. He could settle in quickly and make an immediate impact next season.

The 27 year old could be the ideal fit for Ange Postecoglou’s attacking system, and he will add creativity and goals in the final third. His arrival would allow the Australian manager more options to work with and he will be able to rotate his key attackers more often.

Players like Raheem Sterling and Mykhailo Mudryk have been quite underwhelming for Chelsea in recent months and the Blues could use alternatives next season. Raphinha could prove to be an upgrade on the two players.

He enjoyed his time in the Premier League with Leeds United in the past and it will be interesting to see if the Brazilian is ready to consider a move to Chelsea or Tottenham. The report from SPORT claims that the Brazilian international is keen on staying in Spain with Barcelona for now.
