Moussa Sissoko’s time as a Tottenham player might come to an end this summer.
The Frenchman joined the Lilywhites after helping France to reach the final of Euro 2016.
He joined them from Newcastle United and was expected to become the latest midfield maestro at the club.
He is a reliable player, but his lack of technical skills makes him limited in his performance for the Lilywhites.
His physical presence and style of play may have been suited for a role in Jose Mourinho’s squad, however, he would struggle to play under Nuno Espirito Santo who likes technical players.
He has returned to Tottenham for preseason and The Athletic’s Charlie Eccleshare says the club still hopes to offload him in this transfer window.
The Times via The Sun claims he could follow in the footsteps of Toby Alderweireld to the Middle East this summer.
The report says he has a contract until 2023, but the club has been keen to offload him for some time now.
Sissoko is one of several players at the club who face uncertain futures and getting rid of him will help them have a thinner squad that Nuno Espirito Santo can pick from to achieve their goals next season.
Well we have plenty of planks to shift
Levy will ask too much for him and so prevent a sale likely, unless he really is letting Patatici deal with sales too – I’ll believe it when I see it, Levy being the control freak loser he is.
Charlie Ecclescakes spouting the usual dross, I can’t decide who should go first out of Siss and Dier, but both need to go.
Half or more will be here next season. That’s the reality sadly. Though I did see an article that said the price of timber has shot through the roof because of shortages.
Midfield maestro. You’re having a laugh.
Newcastle couldn’t believe their luck when Levy bought him.
Bad error on my part; should, of course, read LOTS!
Sissoko when he joined us (amid much merriment from Newcastle fans): “I want to win lot’s of trophies!” That ambition seems to have eluded him and the rest of his team mates!
A waste of Space. He is like Dier in doing a lot of pointing and that’s about it really.
Not Davies for me.
Me thinks as well as him we will try and get rid of Carlton Vickers, Sanchez, Davies, Dier, Winks, Aurier and possibly Dele too.
