Tottenham-linked attacker shaken after car crash on his way to training

By Saikat -

Former Tottenham Hotspur winger Marcus Edwards was involved in a car crash while heading to training with Sporting CP.

A report from the Sun claims that the player was shaken after the incident but he remains unharmed.

Apparently, the player was travelling in his Range Rover, which was overturned after the crash. Police, firefighters and paramedics were all spotted at the scene near Atalaia, north of Lisbon. Along with Edwards, the driver of the car was unharmed as well.

The 24-year-old has been a key player for Sporting CP since joining the club and he has been linked with a return to England in recent weeks.

Apparently, Tottenham Hotspur are keen on the player and it remains to be seen whether they decide to make a move for him in the near future. The North London outfit included a sell-on percentage in his contract when they sold the player and they will be able to sign him for a cheaper fee compared to other clubs.

Tottenham could certainly use more quality and depth in the final third and the 24-year-old would be a useful acquisition. He can operate on both flanks as well as the central attacking midfielder. He will add creativity and goals to the side.

The player has previously revealed that a return to England would be an exciting opportunity for him and it remains to be seen how the situation develops over the next few months.
