“The worst it’s been for a long time” Brutal reaction from these Spurs fans to another humbling defeat

By Bruce Grove -

Where does one start with this mess? The best place right this minute is probably not Twitter but in all honesty, what is being said on there probably reflects the majority of the Tottenham fanbase and it is not pretty.

In no time at all, Twitter was filled up with a stream of angry reactions from the Spurs faithful and they have made their feelings very clear.

Here are a sample of the more polite ones, you can only imagine what a good number of the ones I decided not to publish were like.

It is quite clear that Nuno has lost the fans but he was handed a poison chalice from day one and it was never going to end in glory for the Portuguese.

He may be a good manager for some clubs but not Tottenham, his style and tactics are not what we want or expect and really the blame has to lie with who employed him and that is Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici.

If Nuno lasts the weekend I will be surprised, to be honest, once the fans turn Levy does act quick, he has to so he can keep on deflecting the blame.

Nuno was out of his depth before even we hired him common were you expecting him to do any good where the likes Mourinho a serial winner and Pochettino failed, Nuno was hired to be a cover and the cover is unraveling in 10 games I say very fast.

Agree with you MS especially the bit about it only getting worse from here. Why? Because although it is obvious that NES is a poor fit to put it generously, he was umpteenth choice and the alternatives are now pretty thin on the ground perhaps non existent. I guess Mason could come back but how would that look? So I think we will be stuck with a poor piece in the jigsaw puzzle that our club has become with no obvious replacement. This will result in more poor performances, more player apathy and more fan fury. I’m not going to games anymore and I certainly will not be buying anything while Levy is still pulling the strings. Not going to give up on BT or Sky (some have suggested this in order to hit ENIC coffers) as there is other stuff worth watching!

Are the chickens finally coming home to roost? It’s amazing to me that in a world where all information is available on social media in a matter of minutes or hours, that it has taken so long for Spurs fans to start to realise what a disaster Enic and the malevolent dwarf are for our club. My thanks to HH for his stubborn resistance to the Enic regime and the disastrous management of the club by it’s CEO. THFC is merely an investment opportunity for Enic to build up their property company for their own enrichment to the detriment of the club’s success and to the hopes and dreams of all Spurs fans. It is sad that it has taken so long for pundits, journalists , all the MM and the fans to see the charade that is Spurs. Many of you will not enjoy listening to the words of Souness and Keane on Sky Sports tonight but they were spot on. The club is rotten from the top and all the players realise it and are only out for themselves. If you work for someone in any business who clearly is only interested in rewarding himself at the expense of all his employees, it sends out the wrong message. Levy will blame NES for the poor results and he will be jettisoned sooner rather than later so that Levy can deflect the criticism once again but this 22 year cycle of blaming others for the club’s failures whilst slinking back into the darkness after every dirty rotten deed takes place cannot go on much longer. Levy has finally been tumbled for the the preening, narcissistic, ,malevolent chancer that he is. His fatuous attempts to position himself as a Spurs fan who runs a club which is different to others has been seen through. His attempts to block the takeover of NUFC by a regime as equally repellent as Enic are pure hypocrisy and are laughable and for those of you who think Joe Lewis is somehow a better human being than the rulers of the Kingdom of Saud, should first do their research on Lewis’s dealings in Patagonia.
Not only is Levy one of the most hated chairmen in European football, he has manged to drag down the reputation of a once great football club that was respected by other football supporters for playing football in “the right way”. I am sure that many will deride me for those comments but they are the same fans who applauded the appointment of Mourinho as a man who would bring on field success to the club despite not playing an attractive style. Many purists took the view that to finally attain success that Spurs fans like myself were prepared to sacrifice our love of playing the sort of football we were all brought up to love. Even Mourinho could not bring success to a clearly dysfunctional club and as always there is only one man to blame. So I say to all the fans, some of whom were turning against each other in the stadium. concentrate your ire and disappointment on Enic and Levy. The manager , the players and the fans are only actors in an unfolding tragedy, and it will only get worse from here.

Maybe just maybe you can now see what we’ve been telling for the last 3 days is right.

I take no pleasure in telling you that. This blog isn’t for those who believe in sunny uplands. You’d do well to remember that when you post

Just look back at today’s performance and remind yourself these players and manager are hopelessly out of their depth. They have no fight.

Worst thing of all is that poor Lloris only touched the ball 3 times and that was to pick the ball from the back of the net
We lost 3 0 and man u didn’t even play that well

Just checked Skysports for our attacking and defensive stats.

18th in terms of goals scored
19th in terms of chances created and shots

16th in terms of goals conceded
14th for xG against per game
20th for distance covered per game and defeats by 3+ goals

Rotten to the core.

Considering the amount of debt, a stadium that was at least twice over budget (I actually think three times over budget) and a year late while the midget drove everyone barmy, I’m not so sure his reputation as a top grade businessman isn’t also a myth.

Last seven league games: Won 2 Lost 5 Goals For 6 and Goals Conceded 16. I think that’s correct, isn’t it? Not looking too good.

I can only imagine the guff he spouts when interviewing prospective managers ie the world class stadium and training facilities and how determined they are to be at the very top both in the Premiership and in Europe. ANY PROSPECTIVE SPURS MANAGERS OUT THERE, DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR AND DON’T BELIEVE ANY OF THE CRAP SPEWING FORTH FROM THE LIPS OF THE POISON DWARF IN THE DOPEY BLAZER!

The only positive to take from this game came in the second half from the terraces and even that was mixed since, depressingly, so many still turn up to watch this $&£te! However, on the plus side Spurs fans seem to be slowly waking from a deep slumber and venting their anger at what has happened at the club. The anger seems to have been directed at Kane and NES for substituting Lucas and then later on for the whole sorry performance-again. I only had to look at the team selection to confirm what I had previously thought which was a Spurs loss-again. Why pick Davies over Reggie? Can anyone explain because I really don’t expect anything even vaguely coherent to come out of the managers mouth. Platitude after platitude following evasion after evasion following repetition after repetition. NES is Yawn he has morphed into a yawn. I guess we will be about mid-table by the end of this week and we might as well enjoy it while it lasts because it really feels like the direction of travel is firmly south and down into the depths and entrails of the table. Exactly how far down remains to be seen. As others have said before NES is not the only problem, he is not even the biggest problem but solution he is not either.

Totally agree…nobody can. Not even poch. He also lost it after the final. Not totally his fault cause he wanted to rebuild the team but for levy as long as we got into the champions League ( money money money) he was satisfied

It’s so predictable. ENIC have completed their mission.

The sooner people except Spurs are dead the easier it’ll be.

Go to Barnet or Orient ffs.
Either that or get into the NFL. Franchise round the corner.

I don’t expect any manager to get our squad to win the league – even Pep / Klopp / Tuchel would not be able to do that – but NO shots on target in the last one and a half Prem games – FFS that is worse than anything Jose served up.

Don’t spend money. Face opprobrium for poor results. Blame and sack manager. Repeat.

Tills still keep ringing and Levy’s property portfolio continues to grow, funded by the mugs (sorry, fans)…

I’m no fan of Nuno who clearly wasn’t the first pick for the job but who on earth could get a tune out of this team? And what top class manager would want to work with this squad and for a chairman like Levy and a recruitment team of Hitchens and Paratici?
Certainly tonight the penny seemed to have dropped with the fans with their ire being aimed at our wonderful chairman which I hope will be the shape of things to come.
He’s turned the fans on Kane to deflect his mismanagement and I hope he continues to get dogs abuse as he sits in the directors box in his dopey blazer

Hopefully more fans now turn their hate to Levy and ENIC now. So hopefully then they will act quick then a get the hell out of our club.

How much more do they want out of our club before they sell. They will make their profit so just move on stick to building golf course in Florida and the Bahamas.

Now I really want to hear what all the Levy and ENIC sympathisers have to say now. I don’t want to hear trust the process. Give him time. We have the best facilities in the world.

The process has lead us to the days of the mid 90s when we closer to the bottom 3 then mid table. Give Nuno anymore time we’ll be in a unrecoverable position. The best facilities in the world, what are they producing, best i can’t see any progress on the pitch.

I see no interest on the pitch, Kane doesn’t want to be here. Le celso only turns up for Argentina. Which manager’s daughter is Dele sniffing around now. Winks saying in between the lines that he should be playing. But has done nothing to even warrant being in the u23s let alone the first team. Dier I cannot trust wouldn’t take much for him to balls up.

Reggy is probably onto his agent now begging to secure the buy back to Real. Why did Davies start ahead of him today?
Son is probably wondering why he extended now. Wonder what lies he was told to extend.

Nothing at the moment seems positive. There is no light anywhere, we have been sucked into a huge deep dark ENIC blackhole. The only ones who get us out of this is ENIC, and the way for them to do it is sell up NOW.

ENIC out now.

It is a poisoned chalice and that cannot be forgotten. We can all complain about Nuno. He hasn’t been brilliant but boy has he taken on a tough gig. There are at least 5 “first” team players who don’t want to be at the club. At least 5. I’ve said on here what seems to be a million times. It all starts from the the top and that means Mr Levy. Enough about the training ground and the stadium. Enough!!
This man is not good at running the football side of football club. Let’s not forget we are a football club.
To keep Levy & Nuno at this club can only be seen as:
1. A modus operandi of money comes before anything else.
2. Gross mishandling of all football related activities.

Its as simple as that.
