Haringey’s parks are crucial spaces for all local communities. They need to be properly run, but are suffering from a serious lack of funding, staffing and maintenance.
We are calling on the Council to ensure…
- Safe, attractive, well-managed, well-maintained and well-protected public green spaces for all
- Dedicated staffing for each significant park, and a well-staffed parks service
- No inappropriate commercial activities which have a detrimental impact or exclude residents from using their local parks
Why is this important?
All Haringey residents – of all ages and interests – benefit from access to public green spaces for their local community and neighbourhood. But they must be well-run and in good condition in order to provide the many benefits all residents deserve. The parks staff do their best but don’t have the numbers or resources to manage properly.
We need 2,200 people who live, work or study in Haringey to sign up online with a local postcode (your home, workplace or school) by the end of February in order to trigger a debate at the council meeting in March. Please also ask all the local people you know!

Echoes of David O’Leary.
Absolutely.
The odds are evidence in themselves.
Woah!? A footballer with some balls and awareness. I fear he’s going to be a marked man after that….and not on the pitch.
$h!thole. Bring back the bullring 😁
Any talk of us acquiring the services of Willian is abut as remote as me conquering Everest!
If all else fails Spurs should get Brightons evergreen 36 yrs old Murray and Saints tireless workhorse Long on loan to the end of the season.
Senior moment: 1976!
As an adopted Brummy nothing wrong with Birmingham as I have been living in the Midlands since 1989!!
One Sunday they had a clean up the rec day so I went along with the boy. Said to a lady I think we should let Islington and hackney have Finsbury park. She looked at me as if I said I like to eat human flesh. Ally pally takes up a lot of Haringeys gardening resources.
My CB radio antenna hasn’t arrived yet. It’s only coming from bloody Birmingham. The mighty cobra 148 gtl DX is itching to be fired up. 😁
Port Vale’s Tom Pope could be investigated for exposing the Rothschilds.

“I coulda sworn I hid an eighth in this undergrowth somewhere once!”
Odds that short suggest a goal Bonanza…..0-1. hmmms
Something corrupt going on in the U23 league. Spurs v Chelsea was 1/4 both teams to score. Now that’s extraordinary, never that short for that bet. 5/2 for both teams not to score. Chelsea just scored in the last minute 0-1. The odds suggest they’ve been told to keep the score to no or 1 goal and someone’s made a packet. Kids gotta learn the coup…

How impressive Leeds are not winning is a mystery??
Gwarn harry Hotspur. Haringey has some lovely parks. Half have lost their green flags. Community service mob picking up rubbish. Train them up (gardeners) Nurturing is good.
Did a similar thing local to me, and one overwhelming thing we realised was, the more the council invested, the more it wasted. Until the community own the problem, it just gets worse. The council used it as an excuse to reduce funding in the end, and we lost green space and parks. The local community need to care enough to look after their spaces, then councils actually seem to want to help. After a holiday to Austrlia many years ago, the attitudes are so different, they have so many nice things free for public use, and almost all locals put it down to the fact that people respect it. Not saying the council should help by the way, but just saying experience ahs taught me that if community put their effort in too, it works far better.
