‘He’s a big character’: Star overlooked by Tottenham has excelled at his new club

By Saikat -

Former Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Joe Hart joined Celtic back in 2021 and the 36-year-old has been an impressive acquisition for the Scottish outfit.

Hart has established himself as the first-choice goalkeeper at his new club in Scotland. He helped them win the Scottish Premiership and the Scottish league cup last year.

The former England international has already gotten them to a Scottish league cup win this season, and he will be hoping to help them finish the season strongly now.

The former Manchester City goalkeeper struggled for regular game time during his time at Tottenham, and he was eventually sold for a fee of just £1 million.

Once regarded as the best goalkeeper in the Premier League, Hart’s time at Tottenham was far from ideal and few would have expected him to bounce back as strongly as he has done at Celtic.

Adrian Bevington, the former managing director of FA’s club England has now revealed that Hart has finally found himself a home at Celtic and he is loved by the fans and the manager.

He said to The Times: “What you have to understand with Joe Hart is that he’s a big character.

“He’s a guy who has had a great career which had a dip, and he’s come out of the dip and found a new home where he is loved, with a coach who loves him, where he’s got a crowd that loves him.

“Even though he’s not playing international football any more he’s still getting to play at the top level in Europe and performing in a wonderful stadium in a wonderful football city. You can see he’s thrived on what Glasgow’s given him.”

The 36-year-old won multiple domestic trophies at Manchester City and he was the undisputed number one for his country as well. Although he is unlikely to reach those levels again at this stage of his career, he continues to be an important player for Celtic and the goalkeeper will be delighted to have turned his career around.
