For those that are still harbouring disdain for Jose Mourinho, here’s a glimpse of the sort of player that a coach with the class of José Mourinho not only attracts, but inspires.
Sergio Regulión is a player that has come to Tottenham, to make a stand and show the world what he can do, without having to wear his elbows out trying to become a Galactico, or plug away for a mid table Sevilla.
When people like Levy give you the spiel about the stadium’s magnetic pull, it counts for zip without winners like Mourinho at the heart of the project. And that is how you attract quality players who want to thrive and to be part of something special – not with architecture and frankly risible threats of success.
Mauricio Pochettino remains unemployed. The jury is not still out. Feel free to join in at any time.
Just to reiterate, that post wasn’t intended for you HH.
Klopp and Liverpool are now big time winners, they’re not interested in the League Cup. I guess it’s their ‘loser mentality’… 😂
I wasn’t saying you were bigging up Arry HH, that whole post was a reply to Tappa. I know you were not fond of him at all.
However, with only one League Cup in over 20 years to their name and endless managers, ENIC are the biggest losers of all. It comes from the top.
Despite the ‘loser’ tag that I wholeheartedly disagree with, let’s imagine we hadn’t achieved top four and won the League Cup a couple of times…
What would be the perception of the club? An elite Champions League club or a smaller club that wins some insignificant wooden-spoon trophy somewhere up in the North Sea? The only competition the world takes notice of is the Premier League and without doubt the Champions League.
I would say that Poch ‘won’ us greater status by ‘winning’ lots of football matches over a four year period.
A perfect metaphor for me would be that a parent can win the egg and spoon race at sports day… against the kids from reception class. Or he can enter the Dad’s race and stop running away from his responsibilities.
I’m not into lowering the bar to win something almost meaningless in the context of the modern game at the expense of elite competition. Would this have been perceived as a ‘winning mentality’? Not for me..
Miracle worker, Patsy and man with no vision.
I do not big up Arry, I slayed him on here endlessly.
Poch was a loser, likeable, but a loser.
If José doesn’t win anything, he’ll be a loser too.
At least Mourinho is trying to win, those other two peddled along hoping to wing it.
The big difference here is Mourinho’s relationship with Levy – Levy is no getting the right players in.
Not the Madrid 4 then? They’ll only remember the losses and not the wins in the worlds elite competition?
You obviously weren’t at the Madrid game, like a proper fan would have been. Just start going when Poch’s team had been left to go stale by Levy? Ah but he gave you a ticket and bought your loyalty, bribery clearly works…
Not a good look to keep slating a miracle worker who most fans pout up there just behind Bill Nic and Burks. You big up Arry, I liked Arry’s footy but he won no cups. Yet you keep going on about Poch. Weird that is…
So why don’t you big up beating Real Madrid? Because Poch was the manager and Dele scored two? 😂 has
That wasn’t his job, it was top four and he smashed it out the park.
As for Levy one cup (the crappy one) in over 20 years…
I credit a man with a job well done. You seen in able to do that to prove some strange point or other. Bit sad innit…
Anyone who would have been happier with a League Cup over what he did is a plonker. It was virtually impossible to do both in his situation. He got the main job done, elite football.
But no cups. FAILED. Lacking.
The fact is you worship a loser.
At winning cups poch was/is useless
He won no cups though. Simple. Job not done.
I big up all victories no matter who the “opps are. War is war
Coz idiots keep praising him. Tottenham fans praising a loser. Its not a good look.
You seem happy about that, which is weird. You’re a Levy apologist, I’ve sussed you. You cannot be helped, keep taking the meds… 😂
Why do you keep going on about how useless he was then? 😂
“Don’t bring Levy into it” have you taken your medication today? 😂
Come with the facts then…
Now you’re just being childish…
You only seem to have the Bayern game, what about it? Bayern are just slightly better than Norwich, in case you hadn’t noticed. Had we been playing Bayern the night Norwich came we might have shipped 10 goals.
When was the last time a team like that knocked us out of a cup at home? Never happened under Poch, that’s for sure…
You aren’t scraping the barrel bigging up a win over a pub team though? 🤔 😂
He won loads of football matches, you’re talking utter nonsense…
Ok, so Poch was useless? I thought this was a blog for grown ups…
🌚💣
Nonsense. He’s a loser coz he’s never won. This is the reason he’ll be forgotten. Young future fans will be like “who? Old future fans will just remember the Bayern 7 and how rubbish his team played in the CL final, not that he got us there. Dropping hatrick hero lucus for Kane will also be remembered
I don’t dislike Parker, seems a decent sort.
So how many football matches do you need to win to get into the top four compared to say the Mickey Mouse Cup? Work that out and your winning percentage cannot be argued with. Losers don’t have high winning percentages. It’s that simple.
A loser is someone who hasn’t won. Has poch won? Who cares about nearly
Was in jest you bloody moron. Course he will probably want another first team manager job. Anyway, “you’re always welcome back Scotty mate
He’s a manager of a Premiership club and he’s gonna leave that and go and coach? There you go, talking sense again. Defo laughing at some of the stuff you type, not myself… 😂
I understand the bottom line. Winning cups. That’s all people remember.
Losers get the the club to their highest ever consistent league placings in their history do they? You’ll say any old sh*t to slag the guy off, even when it’s factually incorrect, so I don’t take it seriously. You can’t be that thick, surely…
He ain’t no loser, the only losers are the people that say it about him.
People that fail to understand that the level he got us to on the budget he had was an amazing achievement, then you don’t understand football.
Their opinion of him doesn’t mean sh*t because you don’t know what they’re talking about. That you is it?
The facts are STILL poch won fk all and hasn’t done in 10 years of management. Praising a loser, who does that, other losers
Dumb reply. Scraping the barrel now. I told you Jose and my club gonna make you look even more stupid
What about them? Is that all you’ve got now, an old Norwich game? Desperate
5.5 years is fkin time. “Keep up? You’re the one that’s still trapped in the old place. You’re way behind. Fk loser poch.
‘I’m here waiting ” you don’t scare me boy.
To replace Wayne Burnett hopefully. Laughing at yourself again.
I’m not defending it, i said I’d have started both. I’m just not sure that starting Moura would have transformed the result in the way people imagine. He came on, didn’t do much so what’s it all about?
The early pen was a key moment, Sissoko’s fault more than Poch.
Good, the winner won. Unlike against Norwich… 😂
I think it’s possibly a tie with Burks and Pochettino. One for the cups and the other of league placing and competing in elite level football every year. It had never been done before. You want them joint second, I’m happy with that…
It was the transfer activity and spending that is the only fact to consider. It’s making a difference now, we look fresher etc. you want a ‘fact off’? I’m here waiting! 😂
The team needed signings and time, Jose has been given that, Poch wasn’t. Facts man… stick to the facts. Keep up.
One word for you… ‘Norwich’. 😂
Don’t bring Levy into it? So the huge revenues from that competition had no bearing on it with the new stadium being built?
Even in the Amazon abomination Levy clearly states that he wants top four from Jose too.
Managers have a set of objectives given to them by the board. If Levy wasn’t happy with Top 4 and no trophies then why did he only sack him when top four didn’t look likely and left him in place for the five seasons before?
I have been critical of him but I look at the transformation of our expectations under his management overall as his greatest achievement.
From top four outsiders to top four regulars for four years and reaching our first ever Champions League final. That was done on a budget 17 times lower than the top net spenders in the league, and a wage bill seven times lower. To put it in perspective, 120m a year less than even Arsenal on wages, who we finished above.
If that doesn’t put him right up there I dunno what does. A League Cup?
To do what? 😂
Depends which way you look at it. No Spurs manager before had ever achieved those league placings over consecutive seasons.
It’s a matter of opinion but that does not put him in any kind of ridiculous category of being a ‘loser’, because you have to win more matches over a season to do well in the league than in cups. It’s a far better barometer of where a team is basically.
Like I say, he certainly deserves huge respect for what he did, he’s right up there. That’s not because I won’t admit ‘defeat’, it’s based on hard evidence…
They have been this season.

Seems like it is actually happening, good stuff ,,er well done Levy ,,i feel dirty now.
Some would say that how you see Poch, not heard you criticise him once.
…..what more humiliating that 7-2 at home year after you played the final.
Don’t bring levy into it.
Poch prioritised Champs league, not Levy.
But if you want to run with Levy, why has Levy or Jose prioritised any cup now?
Can’t have it both ways.
Players lost respect for him coz of it. MASSIVE mistake yes.
Horrible horrible horrible night. Poch looked pathetic
He just got here mid season. The poch loser mentality was still in effect.
Why did we lose to Norwich at home and why did he only beat Lampard for the first time the other night if he’s that untouchable? It’s cos he ain’t.
He’s got an amazing record but the big prizes now go to the new generation of managers, he’s old hat. Still good, but how good these days?
Quality balling that won nothing. That fact won’t go away
Keith Burkinshaw?
Arry did well, and left when Levy refused to back him any longer.
We played one season in the Champions League with Arry, four seasons under Poch. The football was for most of his time as good under Poch as it was under Arry, better sometimes. You want ‘balling’? We did loads of it under Poch, quality balling…
Levy wanted him to prioritize the Champions League and with the resources it was the only way.
What I’m saying is that is a matter of opinion, whichever way you look at it Poch ranks very highly among our past managers. Which is why I never understand those out to constantly slate him for not winning the League Cup or whatever. Irrelevant to what he actually achieved mate…
We did
If the most decorated manager in the world ain’t “super man” who is? Poch doesn’t even come close to “robin. Bat man would be giving it to him hard
So we should ffs…
Nothing is ever wrong under Jose is that right? What about being knocked out by Norwich at home? Now that was f*cking humiliating, or was it just a bit of a freak like Maccabi’s goajs tonight? Jose ain’t Superman ffs…
A pub team we put seven past.
Against the pub team…
Against the pub team…
“Top bins yes.
His form hasn’t justified starts for a while, Pochettino started dropping him here and there over a year ago too. Now we have other options we haven’t had for years so we can afford to let him fight for his place.
EXACTLY!!!!
Actual Top bins
& a Pen that wouldn’t even be given in the Premier League
I’d go along with that.
Still only one striker though! 😂
Dodgy penalty and a screamer. That happens
There was rotation but that was not any kind of second string team we put out with Kane and Toby starting… as for Hart I’m not so sure. He looks finished to me as a top flight keeper…
Not on the anniversary of if.
He thought the cups we’re fighting for were not important, maybe if he did& won a few we would have more respect for him.
I know you will never admit defeat, so I’ll make you right.
Even though your wr..g
😂
He’s a distant memory to me already.
Not even ‘close’, are you sure? League placings over four seasons?
You’re downgrading him to third then after Bill and Keith? Matter of opinion but he still deserves respect to be even third in that list ffs…
I heard him slip up in an interview the other day, he said, “I love it here, can’t imagine wanting to leave”.
Poch will be a distant memory after this 5 years
But he got us there.
It don’t matter what he would or would not do.
He got us there.
Deserved to start.
Kane was terrible all game.
You can’t tell me your defending Poch’ decision?
I thought both should have started myself, but given Moura’ profligacy in front of goal since that night in Amsterdam I’m not convinced lightning would have struck twice anyway. He came in with what 20 mins in the end? Didn’t do a lot from memory…
Sissoko seems a nice guy but he lost us that final, nobody mentions him. Wtf was he doing standing with his arm outstretched in the penalty era waiting for someone to kick a ball at it? Mane obliged and the rest is history…
He’s home man.
So is el tel ramos and raincoat man (if success means cups) All the winners are. I think arry is our number one non winner. He got Tottenham balling again
So where do you stand on Lucas being dropped for a obviously unfit Kane for the Final?
That was a MASSIVE mistake that Jose would not make.
Of course, we are all gutted but to me there were clear reasons why it happened, not excuses but reasons.
I was there when we beat Madrid, so I take the overall view and think, he made me far happier as a Spurs fan than sad. You wanna relive that night forever that’s up to you. One night in four excellent years? Not gonna dwell on it, it was a one off.
Not EVEN close!!!!
Burks is ahead of him.
I tell you this
…..after a few years of Jose, Poch will be a distant memory.
You must be able to see what he’s building
Second most successful manager?
I won’t have the second most successful manager in our history slated that easily no…. I know he’s on a slight wind up but he means it too. Which is fairly worrying! 😂
I’m with you.
Jose is building something special here
Was lovely beating them big teams obviously, but the seven was painful, extremely painful. Maybe you had to have been there. Horrible horrible horrible feeling. My team looking pitiful and weak
Missed that one had to start work, was it better than their goal? that was a peach.
Oh really? What about playing Champions League football year after year? Beating Real Madrid? What effect on your feeling did that have? 😂
Regardless of opposition they are improving and fighting for each other and actually playing some ok football at times. The squad seems happier and when Bale starts with Reguilin and nomdom gets fit and plays with Le celso we might be half decent.
Next season any team on the planet
You sure know how to Rile up East Stand aka Poch’ No.1 Fan
I’ve never felt emotions like that at a football match. The pain. It will live with me forever
