Yet another blow for Spurs: First-team starter now a doubt for the game against Aston Villa

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham have suffered yet another injury blow ahead of the game against Aston Villa.

Manager Ange Postecoglou confirmed today that Sarr missed training due to the injury concern and will undergo assessment over the next days to determine his availability for the weekend’s game.

His possible injury means Spurs will now be without 6 of their 11 first-team starters this weekend.

Ange will now be forced to field a completely new midfield trio with Hojbjerg, Bentancur and Lo Celso expected to start.

Sarr’s potential absence compounds the team’s problems, adding to the growing list of injuries.

Tottenham are already without key players James Maddison and Micky van de Ven, both sidelined with long-term injuries following their recent defeat to Chelsea.

While Maddison is expected to return in January, the timeline for Van de Ven’s recovery remains uncertain.

In addition, the absence of Cristian Romero, suspended after a red card, and Yves Bissouma’s unavailability due to accumulated 5th yellow cards have really magnified Tottenham’s problems.

These injuries represent a significant blow to Tottenham’s brilliant start to the season, resulting in consecutive defeats for the team.

Spurs have lost back to back games and the manager will be hoping to bounce back with a win this weekend but the players will need to be at their best to beat a very strong Aston Villa side.
