According to Alasdair Gold, Spurs are likely to loan out Jamie Donley in order to make place for Lucas Bergvall.

Tottenham signed Bergvall in January in a last minute move, hijacking him from under Barcelona’s noses on deadline day.

The Lilywhites sealed a five-year contract with the midfielder, acquiring him from Djurgardens IF for a reported transfer fee of €10 million.

However, to accommodate Bergvall’s inclusion in the squad, Tottenham plan to loan out another promising young talent, Jamie Donley.

The 19-year-old has been outstanding this season, making significant strides in his development.

He has also made four appearances for the senior team and has been actively participating in Ange Postecoglou’s training sessions.

Donley’s versatility has been a key asset, with the Englishman showcasing his talent in various attacking roles.

In the ongoing campaign, he has netted four goals and delivered ten assists in just 11 appearances in Premier League 2, distinguishing himself as a promising prospect.

Despite his impressive performances, Donley is set to go out on loan to a Championship club to gain regular competitive senior-level football. Tottenham correspondent Alasdair Gold confirmed the club’s intentions.

He said on his YouTube channel:

“I’d imagine Jamie [Donley] out of those [Lucas Bergvall & Alfie Devine] will probably will have to go out on loan. It depends on the circumstances, you never know.

“There could be injuries, he could just be incredible in pre-season and they say, ‘I’m not letting that guy go.”

The decision to loan out Donley is part of Spurs’ strategy to integrate Bergvall into the first-team setup. The club aims to provide Bergvall with opportunities to compete for a midfield position upon his arrival
