Who is Tottenham’s assistant coach, Bruno Saltor?

Bruno Saltor has been appointed as Assistant Coach to Igor Tudor at Tottenham Hotspur. This occurred on February 20, 2026, as part of Tudor’s arrival as Tottenham’s interim Head Coach until the end of the 2025-26 season.

The appointment is confirmed directly by Tottenham’s official statement, which introduces Saltor (along with two other new staff members: Goalkeeping Coach Tomislav Rogic and Physical Coach Riccardo Raganacci) to support the first-team coaching setup. Saltor brings significant Premier League experience to the role:

He enjoyed a long playing career, notably at Brighton & Hove Albion (235 appearances over seven seasons after moving from Spain in 2012).

After retiring in 2019, he transitioned into coaching at Brighton. He later joined Graham Potter’s staff at Chelsea (where he briefly served as caretaker manager for one match in April 2023 after Potter’s sacking). He followed Potter to West Ham United as Assistant Coach (until Potter’s departure in September 2025).

While the official club announcement highlights Saltor’s background and experience rather than providing an explicit personal “reason” for his selection, the context indicates he was chosen for his established track record in English football, particularly in the Premier League, as an assistant and coach under Potter.

This likely provides Tudor (who has prior experience in Italy, Croatia, and elsewhere but is new to Spurs) with valuable familiarity in the league’s demands, player development, and backroom operations.

Note that Saltor had not previously worked directly with Tudor (unlike Rogic and Raganacci, who joined Tudor from previous clubs like Juventus and Lazio). His inclusion appears to balance the staff with Premier League expertise alongside Tudor’s trusted international collaborators.

This is a recent development tied to Tottenham’s managerial change, aimed at strengthening the coaching team for the remainder of the campaign
