Tottenham have dismantled Southampton in a blistering first-half display, racing to a 4-0 lead inside just 30 minutes.
Pape Matar Sarr added the latest blow with a superb goal, capping off a relentless counter-attack by the visitors.
The tone was set within 40 seconds as James Maddison opened the scoring with a composed finish.
Spurs then turned on the style, with quickfire strikes from Heung-Min Son and Dejan Kulusevski doubling and tripling their advantage in the space of two minutes.
Sarr’s goal came after Destiny Udogie won possession deep in Tottenham’s half and surged forward. The left-back linked up brilliantly with Son, whose square pass found Sarr arriving at the edge of the penalty area.
The Senegalese midfielder showed exceptional composure to step inside a desperate challenge from Wood and curl a precise shot beyond Alex McCarthy into the net.
