‘watch out for Tottenham’ – Spurs expected to move for 24-year-old Chelsea target in January

Tottenham Hotspur are one of the clubs keeping tabs on the Torino defender Alessandro Buongiorno.

A report from Roma Metropolitan Magazine claims that a member of English clubs are keen on signing the 24-year-old Italian defender.

The report states that clubs like Chelsea, Aston Villa, and West Ham United are keen on signing the left-footed central defender. The outlet further mentions ‘watch out for Tottenham’ in their report as the North London outfit continues to search for defensive reinforcements.

Summer signing Micky van de Ven is sidelined with an injury and Tottenham are in desperate need of a quality central defender. The Italian international has been a quality performer for Torino and he has the ability to do well in the Premier League as well.

The Italian is versatile enough to operate as a centre-back as well as a full-back. His versatility will be a bonus for Ange Postecoglou and Spurs during rotation and injuries.

The opportunity to play for a Premier League club can be quite exciting for the defender and the 24-year-old could be tempted to move to England. The Italian outfit will demand a fee of around €30 million for the defender and Tottenham certainly have the means to pay up.

It will be interesting to see if they can beat the competition from London rivals Chelsea and secure his services.

The Blues need to bring in defensive reinforcements as well, especially with Thiago Silva in his twilight years. They will need to replace the Brazilian in the long run and the Torino defender certainly seems like a quality option.
