Video Evidence: France Beat Wales Comfortably But Hugo Lloris Looked Shaky As You Like

Hugo Lloris was only tested twice by the Welsh, and on both occasions, he managed to create a second ball for his opponents. Further evidence – were it needed – that the Frenchman is rapidly approaching that point in his career where he is no longer France’s number one.

Gareth Bale ‘came close’ is that is your definition of ‘close’, of course…

Bale managed an hour for Wales, and was able to only summon up 36% in the overarching ‘total/successful actions’ discipline.

For me, this sums the boy up. No regular football for a few weeks and he’s not bothering to keep in shape – again. For perspective, the 31-year-old’s worst showing in his last 8 games for anyone.

Yeah but for every cheap punt that is a success later there are at least 5 that aren’t.
Much safer to buy the likes of Bruno Fernandez and Dybala than Lo Celso and Vinicious.

He’s also got the odd blooper in him… But he still makes outrageous saves that he has no right to.. And he’s still largely consistent, top 3 keep in the league last season? He was second on stats if I remember right… Definitely not one of our weak links and we have loads. I would replace over half the squad before selling Cap.. Hes been loyal to us too.

Redknapp wasn’t backed, he needed a couple of good players to kick on and received an ageing Saha and Nelson.. Botchy wasn’t backed during and after the stadium build.. Maureen wasn’t backed during the pandemic and sacked a week before a final… Back the manager means let them get on with their job and manage.. Let them sell the players they want gone, and let them buy the players they want and need for the team.. Trust them and back them…

Forget price tags, it’s quality, Robertson at Liverpool cost £8 million. Look at Buendia cost Norwich £1.8million and off to Villa for over thirty million.

Grealish we could have had for fifteen million City or looking at paying seventy million for him. We had the choice of Wijnaldum for less than Sissoko. Another wrong move.
Hojbjerg wasn’t expensive.

Many here love to use the term back the manager. Yet. I do not see them suggesting first class players they would love to see. So my question is, what does back the manager would look like. Rose once suggest players he does not need to google or see youtube clips. All the suppgested players seem to cost $25m and less. Those are not the kinds
of players Liverpool City and Chelsea are buying.

Presumably a direct replacement for expected summer sale of Grealish??

Interestingly, the two English clubs that reached the Champions League final are both clubs that were close to the administrators coming in before their current owners bought them. ENIC should just spend until we’re utterly skint and then some ‘terrible’ oligarchs can come in and sort us out! 😂

Agree with all of this. His big attribute is reaction saves, but there is little else.
I was astonished at how good Pickford’s distribution was for England v Austria in comparison. Quick, accurate long kicks of low trajectory, also accurate long range throws. Made me realise what we are missing.

Of course, by “doing a Leeds”, I mean having a clear playing identity, backing the manager and signing decent players of his choosing.

In unrelated news, Villa will probably sign Emi Buendia, the top chance creator of the Championship, from Norwich for 30M (he posted 15+16 last season).

A club moves for a decent player who is reasonably priced and very likely to do well in the PL. What the hell are they playing at? Planning to do a Leeds?

He’ll get a big signing on fee and increased wages at PSG because he’s on a free. It won’t happen with Levy.

Going to PSG. Why would one of the world’s best goalkeepers come here?

The list goes on and on. Bad at set-pieces generally. Gives away second chances more often than clean catches. Too often stands stock-still on penalties. Weak downfield kicks. Slow or inaccurate serving of his wings. But worst of all, utter failure to dominate his box.

Lloris principal deficiencies.:-

  1. Suspect at corners
  2. When catching the ball from corners he fails to recycle the ball quickly

IMO we ought sell Lloris in the summer and replace him with either hot property linked to the Hammers Sam Johnstone or Aaron Ramsdale me thinks!!
