Transfer insider claims Spurs are poised to make a concrete bid for versatile midfielder ‘in the coming days’

As Tottenham continues to explore midfield options amid uncertainties surrounding the signing of Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher, Blackburn Rovers’ midfielder Adam Wharton has emerged as an alternative target.

Reports from TEAMtalk indicate that certain members of the Chelsea hierarchy are open to selling Gallagher this month, but the player is reportedly keen on remaining at Stamford Bridge, prompting Spurs to consider alternative options.

The North London club is now said to be entering the race for the Championship youngster Adam Wharton.

According to the report, Tottenham may soon intensify their interest in Wharton with a concrete bid ‘in the coming days’.

The 19-year-old England U20 international recently extended his contract with Blackburn until 2028.

Transfer insider Dean Jones, as reported by TeamTalk, suggests that Tottenham’s hierarchy are impressed with Wharton’s profile, and the club might make a bid to secure his services.

According to Jones, a bid of £10 million is deemed sufficient to secure his services.

While Wharton might not immediately secure a place in manager Ange Postecoglou’s starting XI, the young midfielder could be considered a potential replacement for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

The central midfielder is a regular starter for Blackburn, having made 26 appearances, starting 22 of them. The teenager has scored two goals and provided three assists this season.
