Tottenham’s match against Chelsea has now been postponed

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham’s clash against Chelsea in the Premier League has been postponed after the Blues advanced to the League Cup final.

Despite suffering a surprising 1-0 defeat in the first leg of the semi-final against Middleborough, Mauricio Pochettino’s team secured a convincing 6-1 victory in the return leg, securing a comfortable spot in the finals.

An own-goal broke the deadlock, before Enzo Fernandez, Disasi, Cole Palmer (x2), and Madueke all added their names to the scoresheet.

Chelsea are now set to face either Liverpool or Fulham in the League Cup final, scheduled to take place at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, February 25.

Tottenham will now have to wait for a chance at redemption after suffering a devastating defeat at home back in November.

Not only did Mauricio Pochettino’s side beat them 4-1 and ended their unbeaten run, the game also saw two of their best players in James Maddison and Micky van de Ven get long-term injuries which temporarily derailed their season.

Originally scheduled for February 23, the clash between the two London rivals at Stamford Bridge will now be rearranged due to Chelsea’s extended fixture list.
