Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Romanian defender Radu Dragusin in recent weeks.
The 21-year-old is an important target for the North London club and Tottenham are prepared to step up their efforts to sign the player. According to Calciomercato, Tottenham are willing to offer significantly more money than the other clubs in the race to sign the player.
Barcelona are keen on signing the Romanian defender as well and they are prepared to pay €30 million for Dragusin. Genoa value the player at €30-35 and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham can beat the Spanish club to his signature. They are ‘willing to significantly exceed’ Barcelona’s offer.
The Spanish giants are looking to bring in defensive reinforcements as well and the 21-year-old is one of the finest young prospects in European football right now.
The North London outfit need to bring in a quality central defender next month, especially with players like Cristian Romeo and Micky van de Ven sidelined with injuries. Eric Dier has been linked with an exit from the club as well.
Tottenham are severely lacking in depth when it comes to the central defensive unit and someone like Dragusin could prove to be a solid acquisition in the short term as well as the long-term.
Signing a player of his ability for a fee of around €35 million could prove to be a wise decision and the 21-year-old certainly has the potential to justify the investment. He has all the tools to develop into a quality central defender and Ange Postecoglou could help him fulfil his tremendous potential.
It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can convince the 21-year-old to join them instead of Barcelona.
