Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing the Lazio winger Gustav Isaksen.

The 23-year-old has attracted their attention with his performances this season and they are prepared to make a move for him in the summer.

According to a report via SportWitness, Tottenham have already initiated a move for the player, and they have made advances ahead of a potential move. Furthermore, they are willing to spend €40 million (£33 million) on the player.

The Danish attacker has five goals and five assists to his name this season, and his numbers could improve when he is playing in a better team alongside quality players. Tottenham need more depth in the attacking unit, and signing a versatile winger would be a wise decision.

The 23-year-old has shown his quality in Italian football, and he will be open to trying out a new challenge. The Premier League could be the ideal platform for him to showcase his qualities.

He will add goals and creativity to the Tottenham attack, and he is versatile enough to operate on either flank. Regular football in England could help him improve further and accelerate his development.

If Spurs manage to sign him for £33 million, the deal could look like a reasonable investment in the long-term. The player has the physicality and technical attributes to adapt to English football.

Meanwhile, Lazio coach Marco Baroni has claimed that the Danish winger has been “ready to explode on the big stage” for a while.

It will be interesting to see how the situation develops over the next few months. Tottenham certainly have the finances to get the deal done, and they need to plug the weaknesses in their squad during the summer window.
