Tottenham will have to shell out a €50m package for Bundesliga target

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing the Eintracht Frankfurt defender Evan Ndicka.

According to Frankfurter Rundschau, the 23-year-old defender is on the radar of Premier League clubs Arsenal and Tottenham. However, both clubs will have to shell out a considerable amount of money in order to sign him.

Ndicka will be out of contract at the end of the season and he is eligible to secure pre-contract agreements with foreign clubs this month.

His agents are reportedly offering the player around Europe, but they are demanding a significant package for the central defender. Apparently, Spurs will have to pay the player a sign-on fee of around €15 million and wages of around €7 million for five years.

Therefore, Tottenham will have to shell out to the tune of €50 million in order to land the 23-year-old.

It will be interesting to see if they are willing to pay that kind of money for a player who will be a free agent in the summer.

There is no doubt that Tottenham need to sign a quality centre-back as a partner for Cristian Romero in the long run and Ndicka has proven himself to be a reliable defender in the Bundesliga.

However, the financial demands are astronomical and it is highly unlikely that Daniel Levy will sanction such a move.

The Tottenham chairman is a shrewd negotiator, and he is not someone who is used to paying over the odds for transfer targets. It’s fair to assume that the 23-year-old’s representatives will have to scale down their demands if they want to secure a move to Tottenham in the coming months.
