Tottenham Hotspur are looking to bring in a new goalkeeper before the January transfer window closes.
According to a report from Fichajes, Spurs are hoping to sign the Premier League goalkeeper David Raya.
The 27-year-old Spaniard has a contract with Brentford until the summer of 2024 and the Premier League outfit have not managed to tie him down to an extension yet.
His contract situation has fuelled speculations surrounding his future, and it will be interesting to see if Spurs can snap him up this month.
Raya is a key player for Brentford and it would be quite surprising if the Bees decided to cash in on him this month. Ideally, any move might have to wait until the summer transfer window.
He has been a quality player for Brentford in the Premier League and he has the ability to play for a top club as well.
Antonio Conte needs to bring in an upgrade on Hugo Lloris and Raya would be a superb acquisition. The 27-year-old is entering his peak years and he will want to play for a top club and showcase his qualities at a high level.
Meanwhile, the French international goalkeeper has not been at his best for a while now and his error-prone performances have attracted a lot of criticism towards him.
The 36-year-old is clearly not the player he used to be and Conte will have to bring in a new number-one goalkeeper in the coming months.
