Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on the Fenerbahce defender Yusuf Akcicek.

The North London outfit sent scouts to watch the player in action last season, as per reports via SportWitness, and it remains to be seen whether they follow up with an official offer to get the deal done.

The 19-year-old is a promising young talent with a bright future. He is valued at £17 million, and Tottenham certainly have the finances to get the deal done.

Spurs could use Yusuf Akcicek

The towering defender is versatile enough to operate in central defence as well as in the full-back positions. He could prove to be the ideal squad player for Tottenham if they can get the deal done. They could use more quality and depth in the squad. They will be competing in the UEFA Champions League this season, and they need a deeper squad.

Akcicek could be the ideal long-term prospect for them. The 19-year-old Turkish defender could be a valuable squad player for them now, and he could establish himself as a starter in future.

The opportunity to join the London club could be quite exciting for the player as well. He would get to test himself at a higher level and compete against top-class Premier League attackers. It will only help him improve further.

Meanwhile, Tottenham are not the only club keen on him. They will face competition from Manchester United as well. It will be interesting to see if they can beat the Red Devils to his signature. They will be able to offer him European football this season, and that might give them an edge in the transfer race.

It will be interesting to see what the 19-year-old decides. Both clubs have the financial muscle to pay the asking price, and the deal could prove to be a bargain in future.
