Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the RCD Espanyol attacker Javi Puado.

According to a report from La Razon, Tottenham is ‘threatening’ to secure his signature after ‘positive reports’ from club emissaries. Tottenham officials have been following the 26-year-old for a while as they continue to keep tabs on Alejo Veliz, who is on loan from Spurs at the Spanish club.

It remains to be seen whether they decide to make a move for the player in the coming months.

The 26-year-old will be a free agent in the summer of 2025 and could be available for a reasonable price in January. The opportunity to move to the Premier League will be quite exciting for the attacker, and he could also prove to be a quality acquisition for Tottenham.

Puado is naturally a left-sided winger, but he is versatile enough to operate anywhere across the front three. He helped Espanyol secure promotion to La Liga last season with 17 goals in all competitions and he has done quite well in the Spanish top flight this season with three league goals so far.

Tottenham could use Javi Puado

It will be interesting to see if Tottenham decide to make a move for him when the transfer will reopen in January. They could use more depth in the attacking unit, and the versatile 26-year-old will add goals and creativity to the side.

He will be able to secure a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs in January, and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham can sign him on a free transfer. Puado could prove to be a major bargain for the North London club.

Tottenham will have to improve multiple areas of their squad and signing players like Puado on a bargain could prove to be a wise decision.
