Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing Ivan Toney and they will face competition from Premier League rivals Chelsea.
The 28-year-old England striker is currently playing in Saudi Arabia with Al-Ahli, but he wishes to return to English football once again. According to Fichajes, Tottenham have shown interest in securing his signature, but it would require a substantial amount of money to bring him back to England.
It remains to be seen whether Tottenham will pay up for him. They could certainly use another reliable striker, and Toney would be a superb acquisition. He was heavily linked with a move to Tottenham before he decided to move to Saudi Arabia.
He could share the goalscoring burden with Dominic Solanke, and his arrival will certainly help Spurs improve. The 28-year-old is more than just a goalscorer, he will add creativity to the side as well.
Similarly, Chelsea could use more depth in the attacking unit, and the 28-year-old would be a superb addition. It will be interesting to see where he ends up.
It was quite surprising when Toney decided to move to Saudi Arabia at the start of the season. A player of his quality deserves to compete at a high level at a top European club. Returning to the Premier League would be ideal for him.
The player is at the peak of his powers, and he could compete for trophies with Tottenham and Chelsea.
Tottenham will be hoping to secure Champions League qualification this season and they will look to push for trophies as well.
