Tottenham Hotspur are prepared to cash in on Yves Bissouma during the summer transfer window, and they have identified Conor Gallagher as his replacement.

The former Chelsea midfielder has been on the Tottenham radar for quite some time, and they have tried to sign him in the past as well. Journalist Pete O’Rourke has now confirmed that Tottenham could look to make a move for the 25-year-old England international this summer as a replacement for the Malian.

Yves Bissouma needs replacing

“I’m not surprised that Tottenham are looking at [Gallagher] to try and bolster that midfield”, he told Football Insider.

“It seems more than likely that Yves Bissouma could be moved on, and that midfield at Tottenham is a bit light right now.

“So, they could be looking for options to strengthen it, and Conor Gallagher would tick a lot of boxes.”

Bissouma had an underwhelming season last time out, and he attracted a lot of criticism for his performance. Tottenham need an upgrade on him, and it will be interesting to see if they can sign the Atletico Madrid midfielder.

The Spanish club will demand £40 million for Gallagher this summer. Tottenham certainly have the finances to afford him.

Gallagher has shown his quality in the Premier League with Chelsea and Crystal Palace in the past. There is no doubt that he would be a quality acquisition for Tottenham as well. He could make an instant impact at the north London club.

Bissouma will be looking for a fresh start this summer as well. He will look to get his career back on track with regular football, and leaving Tottenham would be ideal for him.

Meanwhile, Spurs have already signed Joao Palhinha, and it will be interesting to see if they can partner him with Gallagher. The England midfielder will add physicality, defensive cover, drive, and work rate to the Tottenham midfield.
