Tottenham want 18-year-old defender half of Europe are after, €25-30m would get deal done

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on the Juventus defender Dean Huijsen.

The 18-year-old is currently on loan at Italian club Roma and he has been a useful player for them. He is expected to return to his parent club upon the expiry of his loan deal and his performances have attracted the attention of a number of European clubs.

A report from ASRomaLive. It claims that ‘half of Europe’ are keen on signing the Dutch defender and the likes of Tottenham and Manchester United are keen on him as well.

Juventus are not interested in sending the player out on loan again and they would consider a permanent departure if an offer of around €25-30 million is presented.

It will be interesting to see if Tottenham are prepared to pay that kind of money for the talented young central defender. They could certainly use more depth in the defence and Huijsen would be a superb, long-term investment.

Tottenham could help the 18 year-old defender develop further and fulfil his potential. Regular football in England could accelerate his development. The opportunity to play in the Premier League can be quite attractive for most players and the youngster could be tempted to join the North London club.

As far as Manchester United are concerned, they need to replace players like Jonny Evans as well.

Total number will be hoping to compete across multiple competitions next season and they need a deeper squad so that they can rotate their key players from time to time. Signing another central defender will help Ange Postecoglou rest the lights of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven more often. In addition to that, the 18-year-old is a prodigious talent who could develop into a key player for Tottenham with the right guidance.
