Tottenham urged to sign 26-year-old playmaker ‘every big club wants’

By Saikat -

John Wenham has urged Tottenham Hotspur to sign RB Leipzig star Dani Olmo.

The Spanish international has been a standout performer for RB Leipzig over the years and his consistency has resulted in a lot of interest from across Europe.

While he is on the wishlist of some of the biggest clubs, John Wenham has urged the North London club to sign Olmo ahead of next season.

The owner of the Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose believes he could be a statement signing from Tottenham. It would not only make their intent quite clear but it will also help bolster their attack significantly.

Wenham while talking to Tottenham News, said: “Olmo is a very good player. He is highly regarded and someone who would considerably improve our squad.

“I would love to see Spurs go out and sign him because I know that every big club wants him.

“It is a positive thing for Tottenham to be linked with exciting players such as Olmo.”

Ange Postecoglou has had a decent first season as the manager of Tottenham. Although the campaign didn’t end in the best possible way, there are quite a few positives for Spurs from the 2023/24 season.

They are now focused on making the necessary changes to their squad to help the Australian manager take the next step.

Reinforcing their attack is a priority and Olmo is one of their targets heading into the summer window. The Spanish attacking midfielder has eight goals and five assists in his 25 outings this season. While his contract with the German club runs until the summer of 2027, there is a £55.8 million release clause in his deal.

Wenham believes Olmo’s arrival could significantly bolster the Spurs attack. He will add goals and creativity to the side. Moreover, his versatility could give Postecoglou multiple options to work with. With every big club linked with the 26-year-old, Wenham feels this could be a statement signing by the club.
