Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing the Brazilian defender Lucas Beraldo.
The 20-year-old São Paulo defender has been linked with a move to the Premier League and Tottenham will face competition from clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Newcastle United as per Team Talk.
The player is reportedly valued at £20 million and Tottenham certainly have the financial means to afford him. They signed Micky van de Ven during the summer transfer window and the Dutchman has established himself as a key player for them.
However, he is currently sidelined with an injury and Tottenham need to bring in defensive depth to the side in January. Beraldo could prove to be a quality long-term acquisition for them.
The 20-year-old is highly rated around Europe and he could develop into a top-class defender with coaching and guidance. He could be a key player for Tottenham in the near future and the £20 million asking price could look like a major bargain if he fulfils his potential.
It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can beat the competition from their Premier League rivals and sign the player.
Manchester United need more depth in the defence as well, especially with players like Raphael Varane and Harry Maguire linked with moves away from the club. The Red Devils need more quality in central defence and the Brazilian would be a quality long-term investment.
As far as Chelsea are concerned, they will need to replace Thiago Silva soon and Beraldo could be the ideal long-term alternative to his compatriot.
