Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing the Como midfielder Nico Paz this summer.
According to a report from Gianluca Di Marzio, Tottenham have submitted an offer of around €40 million to sign the talented young midfielder.
Spurs offer turned down
The Italian outfit will not sanction his departure below €60 million, and they have rejected the offer. The difference in valuation between the two clubs is quite significant (€20m/£17m). It will be interesting to see if they to a compromise in the coming weeks.
Paz is highly rated across Europe, and he has impressed Lionel Messi with his performance in the past. There is no doubt that he is a tremendous talent with a bright future, and Tottenham would do well to secure his signature. They need more creativity and control in the middle of the park, especially after the injury to James Maddison. The 20-year-old can operate as the number ten, as well as a central midfielder. He will add creativity, vision, and technical ability to the side.
Can Spurs sign Nico Paz?

It will be interesting to see if Tottenham come forward with an improved offer to the player. He would be a long-term investment for the club, and he might be able to justify the outlay in future. Tottenham are looking to build a formidable squad for the future signing one of the best young midfielders in Europe right now would be a wise decision. It remains to be seen how the situation develops.
The opportunity to join Tottenham could be quite exciting for the former Real Madrid prodigy. He will want to play regularly, and ample exposure in the Premier League could accelerate his development and help him fulfil his potential. Tottenham managed to win a European trophy last season, and they will be an attractive destination for players. They have a quality manager and talented players at their disposal as well. Someone like Paz could be an asset for them in the long run.
