Tottenham ‘strongly considering’ manager with ‘huge admirers’ and four trophies in two seasons

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Australian manager Ange Postecoglou.

The 57-year-old has impressed with his exploits at the Scottish club Celtic and Tottenham are ‘strongly considering’ him as their next manager.

According to a report from the Independent, they were hoping to appoint the 44-year-old Dutch manager Arne Slot but the Feyenoord manager has reservations about how he would fit into Tottenham’s current structure and he has decided to stay in the Eredivisie.

It seems that Tottenham are looking at the likes of Ruben Amorim and Luis Enrique as well.  However, Postecoglou would be an easier appointment for the London club and it remains to be seen whether they can get the deal done.

The report from the Independent claims that Postecoglou has ‘huge admirers’ around Europe for his impressive stint at Celtic where he has helped them win four trophies in the last two seasons.

The 57-year-old will introduce an exciting, attacking brand of football at Tottenham if he takes over. Tottenham have a number of quality attackers at their disposal and the 57-year-old could prove to be an ideal manager for them.

The Australian will be hoping to test himself at the highest level and the opportunity to manage Tottenham could prove to be hard to turn down. It will be interesting to see if the north London giants can get the deal done in the coming weeks.

Former midfielder Ryan Mason is currently the interim manager at the club.
