Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has been linked with a number of clubs this summer and Manchester United were reportedly keen on signing him.
According to a report from Daily Mail, the Red Devils ended their interest in the striker because of Tottenham’s £100 million asking price.
The report claims that Tottenham striker Harry Kane is now hoping that Manchester United will resurrect their bid to sign him this summer.
A price closer to £80 million could tempt the Premier League giants to return to the negotiating table and Kane is hoping that Daniel Levy will be more reasonable with his demands.
This 29-year-old is in the final year of his contract and he will be a free agent next summer. Paying £100 million for him this summer would be unreasonable and it remains to be seen how the situation develops.
Tottenham will be hoping to hold on to him for as long as possible but it is evident that the player is keen on a move away.
If he does not renew his contract with Tottenham, they will be under pressure to sell him before the summer transfer window closes. They cannot afford to lose a player of feasibility on a free transfer
The striker scored 32 goals across all competitions this past season and his departure will weaken Tottenham significantly. Spurs are already out of the Champions League and they will find it difficult to replace a player of his quality without the lure of European football next season.
