Tottenham star breaks silence for the first time since Conte sacking – also drops hint about his future

Dejan Kulusevski, one of the star players on loan at Tottenham Hotspur from Juventus, has finally spoken out following the club’s decision to part ways with Antonio Conte.

Kulusevski, who was one of Conte’s first signings during his short tenure at Spurs, has been a fan favorite due to his impressive performances on the pitch and positive attitude off it.

Although Kulusevski has not had the same level of impact this season due to injuries, he remains an important player for the club.

Speaking to the Swedish outlet Fotbollskanalen, he expressed his support for the club’s decision to sack Conte, stating that players will always accept and play for whoever the coach is. He also expressed his desire to stay at the club beyond his loan contract.

He said:

“It’s not me who decides. Whoever is the coach, we players will always accept and play for him and for everyone else. Now the club made this decision because they think it is the best and we players stand behind that.”

“[It’s] always sad when a person you work with and have grown close to has to leave. But life goes on and you just have to move on. He has been very important. I have learned a lot from him and I will always remember him, but right now we have his assistant who I know very well. Then we’ll see who comes in next season, but I enjoy the city and the club very much.”

The club reportedly wants to sign him regardless of whether the obligation to buy clause is met or not, but who comes in to replace Conte could impact Kulusevski’s future at the club.

The club continues to hunt for a suitable replacement for Conte but in the meantime, Cristian Stellini has taken over as interim manager with Ryan Mason as his assistant.

They had a successful run earlier this year in Conte’s absence, leading the team to victories against top teams like Manchester City, Marseille, and Chelsea.

Their next challenge will be against Everton, who are fighting to avoid relegation.
