Tottenham set to sign 22-yr-old in a £30m deal, player has reached ‘personal agreement’

Tottenham Hotspur are set to sign the Wolfsburg defender Micky van de Ven this summer.

According to John Cross from the Mirror, Tottenham will pay £30 million for the Dutch defender.

Meanwhile, journalist Mike Verweij has confirmed that the player has reached a ‘personal agreement’ with the North London club and he will sign a contract with them until the summer of 2028.

The 22-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in recent weeks and the move to Tottenham would be an exciting new step in his career.

Tottenham needed to sign a quality defender this summer and Van de Ven could prove to be a superb long-term addition. The 22-year-old will look to form a reliable partnership at the back alongside Cristian Romero.

Tottenham shipped 63 goals in the league last season and they will have to tighten up defensively in order to have a successful campaign.

Players like Van de Ven could certainly improve them defensively. Meanwhile, Tottenham have been linked with the likes of Edmond Tapsoba as well. It remains to be seen whether they decide to bring in another central defender before the window closes.

The 22-year-old defender has shown his quality in the Bundesliga and he is certainly ready for the step up two English football. He has the quality to thrive in the Premier League and he could establish himself as a reliable defender for Tottenham in the coming seasons.

Prior to this, Tottenham have secured the services of Guglielmo Vicario and James Maddison.
