Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly been keeping tabs on the Club Brugge midfielder Ardon Jashari.
According to a report from Voetbal Primeur, Tottenham sent scouts to watch the 22-year-old defensive midfielder in action last week and Aston Villa are keen on him as well.
It is no secret that they need a quality defensive midfielder who can protect the back for breakdown opposition attacking moves. Yves Bissouma has been quite underwhelming this season and he has been linked with an exit from the club in the summer. Jashari could be the ideal alternative to the Mali international midfielder.
The opportunity to move to the Premier League could be quite exciting for Jashari and he will certainly be excited to join a club like Tottenham. Even though they have struggled this season, they have an ambitious project and a talented squad. They could provide Jashari with the platform to showcase qualities at the highest level. He might be able to fight for trophies with them in the coming seasons as well.
Regular exposure to the Premier League could help him develop further, and it could accelerate the 22-year-old’s development.

Steven Defour has recently heaped praise on the young midfielder and he stated:
“He is the best player in our league and perhaps even one of the best of the last ten years. His combination of energy, aggression and calmness on the ball is unique. He reads the game excellently and is technically strong enough to compete at the highest level.
“The time when it was all about running and pounding is long gone. His dynamism and way of playing forward would not be out of place at a team from the English sub-top.”
It will be interesting to see if Tottenham follow up on their interest with an official offer to sign the player in the summer.
