Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keeping tabs on the Fiorentina defender Michael Kayode.
The 19-year-old has been quite impressive for the Italian club this season and his performances have attracted the attention of the top Premier League clubs.
According to a report via HITC football, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have sent scouts to watch the player in action recently. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham follow up on their interest and come forward with a concrete proposal to sign the player.
While there is no doubt that Kayode is a quality player with a big future ahead of him, Tottenham already have two right-backs in Pedro Porro and Emerson Royal. It would be quite surprising if they decided to move for another full-back without selling someone first.
Porro has been outstanding for Tottenham this season and it is highly unlikely that Tottenham will cash in on him any time soon. The Spaniard has established himself as a key player for Tottenham and he will only get better with coaching and experience.
On the other hand, Emerson Royal can be quite unreliable and it remains to be seen whether Spurs decide to part ways with him.
Kayode will certainly be tempted to move to the Premier League and it will be a major step in his career. Tottenham are well placed to secure Champions League qualification and they will be an attractive destination for the 19-year-old.
Regular football in England could accelerate his development and help him fulfil his tremendous potential.
With that said, the player has a long-term contract with the Italian club and his agent has confirmed that he is focused on doing well for Fiorentina despite the transfer links with other clubs.
