Tottenham scouts ‘convinced’ about 12-goal attacker, they are ‘following him closely’

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on the KAA Gent striker Gift Orban.

According to a report from HLN, Tottenham have been ‘following him closely’ for a while and their scouts are ‘convinced’ of his quality.

However, Gent will not sanction his departure below €30 million and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham decide to make a move for him in the coming months.

It is fair to assume that a move in January is unlikely, especially after Tottenham signed Timo Werner on a loan deal. Any move would have to wait until the summer transfer window and Spurs would do well to secure his signature.

The Nigerian forward has scored 12 goals across all competitions this season and he could prove to be a superb, long-term acquisition for the north London club. Tottenham need to bring in a quality striker, especially as a long-term replacement for Harry Kane, who left the club at the start of the season.

Tottenham chose not to replace him during the summer transfer window, and they expected Richarlison to step up and fill the void. However, the Brazilian international has not been at his best and Tottenham should look to bring in attacking reinforcements at the end of the season.

Orban would be a long-term acquisition for them and the 21-year-old is likely to improve with coaching and experience. He has the attributes to develop into a top class Premier League forward and the opportunity to move to Tottenham and will be an attractive proposition for him.
